Basics of Polymer Clay Class $24

Saturday October 2nd   1:00-3:00pm

Polymer clay is enormously versatile.  Learn the basics of working with polymer clay and make your own free-form object in this two hour class.  Instructor Ginger Wells is a Denver clay and glass artist whose art is carried at the Denver Art Museum gift shop and at Caboodle.  This is a beginning class.  Project classes, which will introduce more advance techniques and materials, will be offered monthly.  Limit of 8 participants; price includes all materials.  Tools will be available for purchase from Ginger if you would like to take anything home.  This is a wonderful primer for the monthly offerings we will be doing in polymer clays throughout the year.

Techniques - Image transfer, sanding

 Learn new techniques of working with polymer clay. These are intermediate classes in which you will learn to use tools and other materials with polymer.  If you have not taken the basics class, you can register for this class; however, some familiarity with polymer clay would be helpful.  You will leave with a completed project, no need to go home and bake it!  Limit of 6 participants and price includes materials.

Make Your Own Stamped Cards $15
Saturday September 25th   1:00 - 3:00 pm
   


Impress all your friends when you make your very own stamped cards. Even if you aren't "crafty" you will walk away with beautiful cards and envelopes for mailing. These are perfect for that special someone, a co-worker, your child's teacher or a special friend.  What better way to tell someone how important they are to you?  This class will focus on quick and easy cards that can be used for any occasion.

 


 

 

Quilled Art
Quilling (paper filigree)

Second Saturday of each month    2:00 - 4:00 p.m. 

We will have a series of basic quilling classes that will rotate throughout the year.

There are four classes in a series: Beginning, Husking, Fringing, Miniatures.  Every other month there will be a project workshop where you will make a specific project.  Your instructor will be Marla Hudson (NAQG) from Twisted Sisters Twirled Art.  All tools and materials are provided; however, tools will be available to purchase.  No age limit but please note, we will be working with rulers, glue and small sharp objects such as toothpicks, pins and scissors. 

 

Quilling for Beginners
Saturday November 13th    2 - 4pm         $30 

Learn to use the 15th Century art of quilling, or paper filigree, to create unique gift tags, party frames, hostess gifts, snowflakes or flowers or anything you can imagine!  You will learn a little history while learning how to manipulate narrow strips of paper into beautiful pieces of filigree art. 

 

Husking, Alternate Side Looping, Combing  $30
Saturday December 11th    2:00 - 4:00 pm         $30 

Take the next step in learning additional quilling techniques.  These techniques will enable you to make beautiful filigree items such as flowers, leaves and wings.  Attending the Quilling for Beginners class is recommended. 

 

Fringing 

Saturday September 11th   2:00 - 4:00 pm       $35

Take the next step in learning additional quilling techniques.  This technique will enable you to add another dimension and more texture to your already beautiful quilling projects.  We will learn hand fringing and how to use both 45* and 90* angle fringers. Attending the Quilling for Beginners class is recommended. (repeated Saturday 01/08/2011) 


3-D Miniatures
Saturday October 9th          2:00 - 4:00 pm         $40

Take the next step in learning additional quilling techniques.  This technique will enable you to create three dimensional items such as boxes and figurines that can be combined with other quilling techniques or used as a stand-alone item, such as a box, a doll or animal.  Attending the Quilling for Beginners class is recommended. (repeated 02/12/2011)

A great opportunity to refine your techniques, ask questions and learn even more about the art of quilling.  Mingle with other quilling students, exchange ideas, find inspiration, show off your own work or just observe.  Purchase a kit, bring your own project or participate in the workshop project (additional $5.00 charge for workshop project supplies). Workshops facilitated by Marla Hudson (NAQG) from Twisted Sisters Twirled Art. (Additional supplies and tools available for purchase or bring your own. )
            8/28 workshop project - Using a clear photo box to show off your creation. 

10/23 workshop project - Learn to embellish projects with items such as rhinestones, beads, stamens, glitter, metallic ink.

Sign up for the entire four part series and receive $10 off one workshop (supplies not included).

8 student limit per class.       Refreshments and door prizes.

 


 

Dog Day at Caboodle!             $15 - $30-you get to choose!
Saturday September 11th   11 am - 2 pm   (sign up for a 10-min time slot)

 

This fun event is just for the dogs!  Sign up for a 10 minute time slot and bring your dog in to get his paw print in ceramic clay.  You will have several styles of keepsake to choose from (I have samples at Caboodle to help you decide) including a simple, plain round disk with your dog�s name on it up to a two-piece glazed and wired piece.  You will choose your style and pay when you register for your time slot.  Fee will not be refunded if you miss your time slot.  Reminder emails will be sent out before the event.  There are a limited number of spaces, so be sure to register early!  These make great Christmas ornaments, wall hangings, and keepsakes!
